God's Love

Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Long before the days of test-tube babies and artificial insemination,
There's a story they try to tell us about Immaculate Conception.
I don't know 'bout you, but I find it hard to believe
That God would really make Mary concieve
Through an Angel... I'd like to think he did it in the flesh.

Helen had the Greeks and Trojans all up in arms
With her unearthly beauty and her Heavenly charms,
Frigg had Thor, with his lighting rod,
But Mary, you're the only mortal who's ever had God.
For a Monotheist, that's quite a feat;
I'm sure that such a victory must've been sweet!
Was he in-and-out? Did he stay to cuddle?
Did he leave you cold, or in a fuzzy puddle?

I won't have faith in a man who leaves a woman hot and bothered
While he's braggin' up in Heaven 'bout the savior that he's fathered.
So, before I get down on my knees
Holy Mother, I'm askin' you, please..
Tell me now and tell me true:
Mary, was it good for you?

Did He lay you down beside still waters?
Did His rod and staff comforteth you?
Did He fill you with his Holy Spirit?
Did a Heavenly host sing Halleloo?
Was it truly an Immaculate Conception,
Or did God just dust off His tired old erection?
Was it quick and fast, or long and lasting?
A feast for the senses or 40 days of fasting?

I won't have faith in a man who leaves a woman hot and bothered,
While he's braggin' up in Heaven 'bout the Savior that He's fathered,
So, before I get down on my knees.
Holy Mother, I'm askin' you, please..
Tell me now and tell me true:
Mary was it good for you?

Did he make love to you woman, down by the side of the fire?
Did he make love to you woman, to the sound of a Heavenly choir?

Well, if it was me, you know what I'd do? Well, I'd say:
"Hey God, I'd have a baby for you any day.
But first, you've gotta prove that you really really love me...
Not only my soul, but also my body."

I won't have faith in a man who leaves a woman hot and bothered
While He's bragging up in Heaven 'bout the savior that He's fathered,
So, before I get down on my knees...
I won't have faith in the purveyors of Immaculate Deception,
Cos the greatest thing in my mind is a joyous conception,
So, before I get down on my knees,
Holy Mother, I'm askin' you, please.
Tell me now and tell me true,
Mary was it good for you?
